OFFICIAL INAUGURATION OF KIM LONG MOTOR TRUCK MANUFACTURING PLANT – MARKING A NEW MILESTONE IN VIETNAM'S AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

In the celebratory atmosphere of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Hue City (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2026), on the morning of March 17, KIM LONG MOTOR solemnly held the Inauguration Ceremony of its Truck Manufacturing Plant and launched KIM LONG branded truck models at the KIM LONG MOTOR Hue Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Industrial Park. The event was attended by representatives of Central and local authorities, departments, KIM LONG MOTOR's leadership, domestic and international partners, and various media agencies.

The Truck Manufacturing Plant covers an area of 10 hectares and is equipped with modern, highly automated production lines utilizing world-leading technologies. Notably, the Welding Shop employs a new generation of automated robotic welding systems that operate synchronously under precise programming, creating a smart manufacturing network that ensures absolute accuracy for the entire body structure. The Painting Line features the most advanced automation technologies, highlighted by the Electrodeposition (ED) coating system consisting of 13 continuous dipping tanks, each 15 meters long. This technology allows the coating to penetrate deeply into all metal surfaces, enhancing corrosion resistance, structural durability, and surface quality. The Assembly Shop is designed with a flexible manufacturing model, allowing for the assembly of various truck lines on a single production line, optimizing operational efficiency and rapidly meeting diverse market demands. The entire production process strictly complies with international management standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and IATF 16949 (International Automotive Quality Management).

The operation of the Truck Manufacturing Plant is a vital strategic piece, contributing to the completion of the KIM LONG MOTOR Hue Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Center, oriented towards becoming a modern hub with leading scale and capacity in the region. Along with the Stamping Plant, YUCHAI Engine Manufacturing Plant, EV Battery Plant, and Commercial Vehicle Painting Plant, this ecosystem enables the enterprise to autonomously produce key components—from cabins, chassis, engines, batteries, and truck bodies to finished products. Consequently, it allows for stringent quality control, cost optimization, and an increased localization rate, step-by-step affirming its position as a capable commercial vehicle manufacturer. Building on this foundation, the plant aims to supply approximately 20,000 vehicles annually for the domestic market and progressively export to countries within the region.

Mr. Dao Viet Anh – General Director of KIM LONG MOTOR, shared: “The on-schedule inauguration of the Truck Manufacturing Plant not only demonstrates our execution and organizational capabilities but, more importantly, marks a strategic milestone in expanding our product portfolio and developing KIM LONG MOTOR's commercial vehicle segment. We identify localization and mastering core technologies as the guiding principles for building a sustainable automotive manufacturing ecosystem. In the coming time, KIM LONG MOTOR will continue to promote investment cooperation, joint ventures, and alliances to develop a system of automotive supporting industry plants—including gearboxes, glass, electrical wiring, and composite plastics—to form a leading automotive manufacturing hub in the region. Through this, we aim to progressively increase the localization rate of our products to over 90% and participate deeply in the global value chain.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City – highly commended KIM LONG MOTOR's efforts in investing and developing the KIM LONG MOTOR Hue Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Industrial Park. Covering an area of approximately 600 hectares, the project is identified as a key industrial initiative, serving as a driving force to promote the socio-economic development of the province.

At the event, KIM LONG MOTOR officially debuted four brand-new KIM LONG branded truck models: the KimAn 9 (available in 1.99-ton and 2.49-ton payloads), the KIMLONG X9 VAN, and the GK48-EV all-electric van. The product portfolio has been diversely developed, featuring both internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options based on rigorous research of practical operating conditions in the Vietnamese market. These models meet high standards for safety, operational efficiency, and long-term economic value for customers. Immediately following the launch, the KIM LONG branded trucks received significant interest and trust from many of Vietnam's leading logistics enterprises. On this occasion, KIM LONG MOTOR signed sales contracts with two major strategic partners: Phuong Trang FUTA Express Services Joint Stock Company and Mien Nam Automobile Import-Export Co., Ltd., marking the beginning of their cooperation and development in the future.
