KIM LONG MOTOR OFFICIALLY SIGNS SALES CONTRACT WITH CHO THAVEE GROUP TO SUPPLY 3,000 EV BUSES AND YUCHAI ENGINE BUSES ANNUALLY FOR PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION IN THAILAND

On the morning of June 27, 2025, at the KIM LONG MOTOR auto manufacturing and assembly industrial zone in Hue, a sales contract signing ceremony took place between KIM LONG MOTOR JSC and CHO THAVEE Group (Thailand). Under this agreement, KIM LONG MOTOR will annually supply 3,000 electric buses (EVs) and YUCHAI engine buses manufactured at its factory in Hue to serve passenger transport operations in Thailand. 

Established in 1968 and headquartered in Khon Kaen, Thailand, CHO THAVEE Group offers a wide range of products and services, from standard to custom-designed solutions including trucks, semi-trailers, buses, airport equipment, light rail systems, and smart urban solutions. CHO THAVEE has long been a strategic partner of major transportation organizations in Thailand and plays a vital role in promoting smart, sustainable transportation in the country. 

The two vehicle models chosen under this agreement are newly developed products designed in compliance with international technical standards, and optimized for Thailand’s climate, infrastructure, and operational regulations. 

The 12-meter EV bus stands out with its modern, eco-friendly design and is equipped with advanced high-capacity batteries, enabling smooth, efficient operation under various conditions. With energy-saving capabilities and reduced emissions, this model supports Thailand’s green transport goals and sustainable energy transition strategy. 

The second product is a 7.5-meter diesel bus meeting Euro 5 emission standards. Compact and highly maneuverable, it is ideal for operating in dense urban areas and short routes. It is powered by a YUCHAI engine—China’s leading brand—manufactured at KIM LONG MOTOR's engine plant in Hue. This factory, which broke ground in August 2024, has a total investment of USD 260 million and features over 90% automation. The bus is developed by KIM LONG MOTOR’s engineering team to maximize durability, fuel efficiency, and reduce maintenance costs—critical factors for transport operators. 

At the ceremony, Mr. Dao Viet Anh, CEO of KIM LONG MOTOR, stated:

This is not only a significant milestone in KIM LONG MOTOR’s development and global integration journey, but also a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, internationally standardized commercial vehicles to the regional market. The partnership with CHO THAVEE—a leading Thai conglomerate—clearly demonstrates international partners’ trust and recognition of the research, manufacturing capabilities, and open cooperation spirit of Vietnamese enterprises."
