On October 19, KIM LONG MOTOR officially launched the all-new KIMLONG X9 minibus. The first vehicles have been produced and delivered to key partners at the KIM LONG MOTOR automotive manufacturing and assembly complex in Hue. Attendees included Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee, along with representatives from Thua Thien Hue province, the Phu Loc District People’s Committee, domestic and international partners, and 30 media agencies covering the event.

Official Launch of the KIMLONG X9 Minibus in the Vietnamese Market

The KIMLONG X9 minibus is a product developed and assembled at the KIM LONG MOTOR HUẾ Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Complex, located in the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, Thua Thien Hue province. The model offers multiple versions, including the Standard Version (16 seats), which is ideal for passenger transit, student and staff shuttles, short fixed-route transport, and tourism services. In addition, Limousine versions (10 seats, 12 seats) with high-end interiors and entertainment features, as well as a Mini Van option, have been developed to meet diverse customer needs.

Overview of the KIMLONG X9 Minibus Launch Event

The KIMLONG X9 minibus features a minimalist, compact design, allowing for flexible operation on narrow urban roads and in city centers. The vehicle is built on a Full Monocoque chassis platform (body and chassis in a single structure) optimized for Vietnam’s infrastructure and operational conditions. It is equipped with an engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, meeting Euro 5 emission standards. The vehicle’s flexible design and focus on high performance meet various cargo and passenger transport demands for businesses.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ly Quoc Viet, Executive Deputy General Director of KIM LONG MOTOR, stated: “The KIM LONG MOTOR Hue automotive manufacturing complex is set to become a leading regional hub for automotive and parts manufacturing, aiming for a localization rate of over 90% by Q2 2026. The launch of the KIMLONG X9 minibus further underscores KIM LONG MOTOR’s strong commitment to becoming a market leader in diesel vehicles, electric buses, and EV trucks (heavy, medium, and light), with a core focus on export markets.”

Delegates experience the KIMLONG X9 minibus firsthand

As part of the program, KIM LONG MOTOR hosted the Release & Handover Ceremony for the KIMLONG X9. According to the contract, by December 2024, KIM LONG MOTOR will deliver 500 minibuses to strategic partners: Phuong Trang Bus Lines - FUTA Bus Lines and FUTA - Ha Son Transport. At the ceremony, the first 100 KIMLONG X9 minibuses were handed over, ready for operation to meet peak year-end transit demand.
