KIM LONG MOTOR PIONEERS A NEW STANDARD FOR ELECTRIC URBAN BUSES IN VIETNAM

Continuing the strategic cooperation between two leading enterprises in Vietnam's automobile manufacturing and passenger transport industries, KIM LONG MOTOR HUE JSC has successfully delivered 650 urban buses — including 450 fully electric buses and 200 diesel-powered buses — to Phuong Trang Passenger Bus Joint Stock Company – FUTA Bus Lines. The entire fleet was produced and delivered within just 15 days from order confirmation, a clear demonstration of KIM LONG MOTOR’s production capability and its unwavering commitment to serving the community. 

The new fleet will be promptly deployed on 35 subsidized bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City starting in early August 2025, as part of the 557-bus tender package recently won by FUTA Bus Lines. This rollout coincides with the merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, serving as a practical and timely contribution to the city’s vision of a modern, green, and smart urban infrastructure. 

The highlight of this delivery is the introduction of the compact B30-EV and mid-sized B60-EV electric buses. These modern, aesthetically designed models are specially developed by KIM LONG MOTOR to meet the unique needs of urban transport in Vietnam. Featuring low-floor access, high-capacity air conditioning, surveillance cameras, digital route displays, comfortable seating, and energy-saving, low-noise, and eco-friendly technologies, these buses reflect KIM LONG MOTOR’s innovation and attention to detail. 

To date, a total of 699 electric buses manufactured by KIM LONG MOTOR have been delivered to FUTA Bus Lines for public transport services in Ho Chi Minh City, significantly contributing to Vietnam’s green mobility goals under Decision No. 876/QĐ-TTg by the Prime Minister. 

Since the end of 2023, FUTA Bus Lines has won bids for 69 subsidized bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City, becoming a leader in both fleet size and service quality. According to the city’s Public Transport Management Center, FUTA’s investment in a new fleet has helped improve public service standards for passengers.

Beyond affirming its pioneering role in Vietnam’s urban electric bus sector, KIM LONG MOTOR is also expanding its global presence. In 2025, the company officially exported electric and CNG buses to South Korea and signed major contracts with the Thai market, with a planned export volume of up to 3,000 units per year. These are strategic steps to elevate the Vietnamese automotive brand and deepen integration into the global value chain.
