HUE CITY, FUTA GROUP, AND KIM LONG MOTOR COOPERATE TO BUILD A HERITAGE CITY – MODERN INDUSTRIAL HUB

Within the framework of the conference “Green Transformation and Breakthroughs in Attracting Industrial Investment” in Hue City, a signing ceremony of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held between the People’s Committee of Hue City, Phuong Trang Group Investment JSC (FUTA Group), and Kim Long Motor Hue JSC.

According to the agreement signed on September 19, the three parties set specific objectives and committed to leveraging the potential and strengths of Hue City and the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone. The cooperation aims to promote projects in urban development, industry, transport infrastructure, seaports, public transportation, and sustainable sectors. The long-term goal is to build Hue into a heritage, cultural, and tourism city as well as a regional economic hub, while positioning Chan May – Lang Co as a major national center for automobile manufacturing, components, supporting industries, and the export of premium “Made in Vietnam” products.

Hue to be shaped as a national automobile manufacturing hub through FUTA – Kim Long Motor cooperation

The MoU outlines a comprehensive roadmap to accelerate Hue’s development, focusing on three core areas:

Urban real estate projects: Research, propose, and develop projects such as the Chan May Administrative and Financial Center Urban Area and the Lang Co – Lap An Lagoon Urban-Commercial-Service Complex, alongside infrastructure renovation in the Lang Co area. In parallel, the parties will jointly invest in housing projects for low-income residents, contributing to sustainable social welfare in Hue, particularly in areas supporting the large-scale automotive industry.
Transport infrastructure and public transportation: Collaborate to study and deploy urban monorail lines, including Hue City – Phu Bai, Phu Bai – Chan May Lang Co, routes along the Huong River, heritage site connections, and inter-regional routes under appropriate investment models. Develop an electric bus system for Hue City, initially piloting student and tourist shuttle services at selected attractions.
Industry and manufacturing: Develop industrial complexes such as automobile manufacturing and supporting industries; foster partnerships in green steel production, LNG power plants, and deep-water port infrastructure at Chan May, as well as projects that align with Hue’s investment attraction criteria.

The People’s Committee of Hue City affirmed its commitment to providing favorable legal and administrative conditions to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with the city’s new development orientation. This event is expected to open up new investment opportunities and contribute to shaping a model of green industrial development closely linked with heritage preservation, fostering rapid and sustainable growth for Hue City.
